Ed is a traditional 2D animation artist with over 15 years' experience. He graduated in 2000 with a BA Hons degree in Animation from Newport Film School.
Since then Ed has freelanced as an Animator and Storyboard Artist on Feature Films, Commercials, Music Videos and TV Shows.
Ed has worked as a VFX SketchVis Animator, helping visualise and create Hollywood blockbusters through 2D animation on the films Venom (Double Negative), Dora and the Lost City of Gold (Paramount Pictures) and The Voyage of Dr. Dolittle (Universal Pictures).
Other studios worked for include Blinkink, Uli Meyer Animation, Passion Pictures, Django Films, Dreamworks SKG, Richard Purdum Productions and Channel 4.
Projects have included Ethel and Ernest, The Illusionist, Gorillaz, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas, Bitz and Bob, and commercials for IKEA, Cookie Crisp, Raid, Bulb, Nivea, Coco Pops, Felix and TSB.
Ed has mentored students on the animation degree at Central St Martins and created tutorial videos for UCA Farnham's animation course.
His award winning¹ student film apple monkey was screened in 27 international film festivals, and the Moonwalk/Thriller flipbook he designed and animated sold over 60,000 copies within the first 8 months of publication.
Versatile and creative, Ed combines strong draughtmanship with high attention to detail and is always on the look out for new and exciting collaborations.
His favourite colour is yellow and he plays a mean game of ping pong!
